J. D. Harkleroad and her husband Dwayne divide their time between their ranch in Utah and their farm in Virginia. A medaled rifleman and skilled rider, J.D. has done her share of driving cattle and "wrangling" dudes. Other credits include: novelist, TV writer/editor, educational diagnostician and administrator, musician, artist, and photographer. Liner notes of a musical CD she recently directed describe her as "...a woman of faith, wife and mother, writer, educator , musician, and 'cowboy.'" J.D. Harkleroad belongs to Western Writers of America (WWA) and Women Writing the West (WWW).
If you have a message, comment, or even a review of one of J.D.'s books, check out the guestbook page. She'd love to hear from you.

Husband Dwayne (pictured with J.D.) is often the prototype of her Western "heroes."
New friends Andrea and Jurgen (Joey) Beck from Stuttgart, Germany visit the Harkleroad's in their Utah home:
Although they had been to the U.S.A. at least a half dozen times, this was their first visit inside an American home. We had a great time sharing experiences and exchanging jokes (yes, even blonde jokes!)...laughter is a common denominator, no matter what country you are from.
